That’s 1 in 100 children worldwide. Only 10% of these children have access to the specialized medical care they need to save their lives. The majority live in rural areas of poverty-stricken, developing countries where access to necessary medical care is limited at best. If medical care does exist, it is financially inaccessible. Without help, these children will die.
HeartGift connects children worldwide with limited medical and financial resources to life-saving cardiac care. Our approach requires multifaceted efforts, which include managing complex logistics, connecting children to expert medical professionals, providing financial support when local facilities are available, and leveraging strategic partnerships to equip hospitals and medical teams with the proper tools and resources to deliver quality access to care.
Our goal is to remove barriers and create sustainable programs that offer long-term solutions and equitable treatment for children in need.
Only 10% of them have access to the specialized medical care
they need. Left untreated, these heart conditions cause chronic illness, failure to thrive, limited quality of life, and for many, a shortened lifespan.
One surgery saves their life.
HeartGift addresses this disparity of care and provides access
to life-saving surgeries.
"My own son was diagnosed with CHD at birth and underwent life-saving open-heart surgery when he was just four months old. I still remember the crushing fear of his diagnosis, followed by immense relief upon learning his life could be saved thanks to skilled surgeons and accessible care.
As a mother, I can’t imagine the heartbreak of not having that hope. HeartGift provides this hope for families all over the world."
